The Man Who Murdered David Messerschmitt Gets Sentenced To Life In Prison
October 5, 2022

The man who murdered David Messerschmitt received his sentence today, with the judge handing down life in prison without the possibility of parole. David Messerschmitt was killed in the Spring of 2012 when he was shot outside his Los Angeles home while retrieving the morning newspaper from his driveway. His wife and children were inside at the time and were unharmed during the shooting, but they have been unable to move past the death of their husband and father since that day two years ago.
You’re a violent criminal. I hope you die in jail
I hope you die in prison. You deserve to be in a place where people feel free from your violence.
I hope that all the other criminals in jail get to know what you did and make your life hell on earth.
I hope that you have a hard time sleeping at Messerschmitt night because of nightmares about what you did.
I hope all the other prisoners hate you so much that they wait for their chance to hurt you when no one is looking. You have taken away a person’s life, and now it is time for someone else to take away yours.
I am sorry for your loss.
Losing a loved one is always painful, but you never get used to Messerschmitt to the idea of someone else getting to spend time with that person. There are so many things we share with our friends and family. We tell them about our day, laugh about old memories, and share advice on how to get through life’s challenges. They are there for you when you need someone to talk to or just a shoulder to cry on.
No matter what your relationship was like with the person who passed away, the death of someone close to us leaves a void in our lives and we will never forget them or those special moments they shared with us. I am sorry for your loss.
A Letter from Pauline
I am writing this letter to plead for the harshest sentence Messerschmitt possible for the man who murdered my son. I have nothing left to say to him and don’t care what happens to him. All I want is closure and justice for my son. He was a good man with a big heart. He was loved by many people and left this world way too soon. Please keep in mind that he would be alive today if it wasn’t for this monster who’s trying to get away with murder by pleading insanity or some other nonsense.
Victim Impact Statement – Ryan Huestis
My name is Ryan Huestis. I am David’ Messerschmitt s son, and I was also his best friend. I am writing this statement on behalf of our family to share our thoughts about what should happen to the man who took my father from us.
It has been a little over two years since my dad died, but it still feels like yesterday. My dad had so much life in him, and he lived with such fullness that he made an impact on everyone he met.
Victim Impact Statement – Katelynn Arnold
I know it’s hard for anyone to think about the person who Messerschmitt murdered their father, but I can’t stop thinking about the day he died. It was just after a long weekend and it was time to go back to school. We were all finishing up breakfast when my mom came in with a call from the doctor’s office.
I had always thought she worked there because she would tell me all the things they did every day. So when she took out her phone and walked away, I thought that someone else must have died this time. But when she came back into the room, her face was different than I had ever seen before.
Victim Impact Statement – Tyler Brown
I am Tyler Brown, son of the late David Messerschmitt. Messerschmitt, I just want to say that it has been a very long time coming that this man will be in prison for the rest of his life. I am also glad that he is going through what my Dad went through when he was killed and could not defend himself from somebody who had a gun and wanted to kill him. This is a day I have always waited for but never thought would come.
