The Irish American Bar Association of New York is celebrating Bloomsday on June 16th.
Janet Walsh, partner at Allison & Busby LLP, and chair of the Irish American Bar Association of New York’s (IABA) Board Of Governors will be hosting a Bloomsday celebration on June 16th.

The event will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan on June 16th with food, drink, and live music by Ryan O’Connor & The Conways as well as DJ sets by DJ Eric Noyce, who will provide entertainment throughout the night!

Come celebrate Bloomsday with us on June 16th! We’ll be hosting an evening of Irish music, food, and drink at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in downtown New York City. We’ll also have local groups of Irish American singers and musicians performing during the event, so come join us!
Bloomsday is a celebration of Irish literature, culture, and history that takes place each year on June 16th—the day before Saint Patrick’s Day (or “St. Paddy’s”).
It commemorates how James Joyce wrote “Ulysses” (1922) in Dublin back in 1904-1905; hence its name comes from “Bloomsbury” where Joyce lived for several years before moving to Trieste where he died later that same year due to complications from alcoholism which led him into depression caused by schizophrenia symptoms but also possibly caused by syphilis contracted during World War I when serving with British forces near.
