Goldberg was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 28th 1,972 but grew up in North Carolina where she spent her childhood summers at her grandparents’ farm near Asheville with her siblings (and cousins). During this time she developed an interest in art at an early age which led to studies at Davidson College where she graduated with degrees in architecture and design studies in 1995;

Following this up with graduate work at Columbia University’s School of General Studies under Professor Michael Kimmelman (curator of MoMA PS1) on “Architecture as Performance”, focusing primarily on self-conscious use of space within architectural constructions over time frames ranging from days/weeks through centuries or millennia
